Sarah Al-Suhaimi was elected CEO of the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia  Bahri  for a three-year term, becoming the first woman to hold this position since the company's founding in 1978.is a step that breaks the male-dominated upper echelons in this sector. Al-Suhaimi's election came as part of the new 10-member board of directors, following a competition with 48 other candidates. the course  is scheduled to begin in January 2026 and continue until January 2029

Al-Suhaimi is one of the most prominent leaders in the financial sector in Saudi Arabia and holds a position Whereas she had  the chairwoman for the board of directors at the Saudi Arabian Stock Exchange group (Tadawul), the largest stock market in the Middle East The selection of Al-Suhaimi to lead the Kingdom’s 2 trillion SR stock market, the largest in the region and number 21 internationally, according to the World Federation of Exchange, underscores the Kingdom’s incessant pursuit to empower women.. 

A We-Fi Leadership Champion

She worked before  as the chief investment officer at Jadwa Investment, where she led the asset management and wealth management business lines and was also a member of its management committee between 2007 and 2014.ب

Meanwhile  Al-Suhaimi serves on several boards of directors and she started her career within asset management at Samba Capital. She is a trustee of the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation and a We-Fi Leadership Champion

Three years before Tadawul, 

Whereas three years before Tadawul, Al-Suhaimi was the CEO and a board director at the National Commercial Bank, also known as Al-Ahli Bank. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from King Saud University in Riyadh with the highest honors and completed the general management program at Harvard Business School in 2015.Al-Suhaimi served as the vice chairperson of the advisory committee to the board of the Capital Market Authority between 2013 and 2015.

At Saudi airline 

Sarah Al-Suhaimi has been appointed to the board of directors at Saudi airline as a representative of the private sector, following approval from the Kingdom’s Council of Ministers.

Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, the Saudi minister of transport, congratulated Al-Suhaimi as she became the first woman to hold such a position since the company’s inception 75 years ago.“I wish her success and for our company continued progress and prosperity,” Al-Jasser wrote on X

Furthermore, the Board of Directors of the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) decided to appoint Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Zamil as Vice Chairman of the Board.
