Sallaum Lines has taken delivery of the 7,500 CEU PCTC newbuilding OCEAN EXPLORER from the Fujian Mawei Shipyard in China. The Antwerp-based operator took delivery of the sister ship OCEAN BREEZE, the first of the six-vessel series, back in July 2025. The vessels, each of 73,000 GT and measuring 199.9 meters in length and 38 meters in beam, are equipped with a (B&W) dualfuel/LNG 7S60ME-C10.5 GI main engine supplied by Everllence. Sallaum Lines currently has a further four newbuildings of the same series in order at CMHI Jinling, with deliveries scheduled through to 2027. Swiss shipping company Sallaum Lines took delivery of a new pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) in a ceremony in China on Tuesday, January 6.

The vessel (IMO 9987809, MMSI 352003782) ( sailing under the flag of Panama.)is designed to meet the highest international standards of environmental performance and operational efficiency, featuring cutting-edge LNG dual-fuel propulsion systems that significantly reduce CO₂, NOx, SOx, and particulate emissions. This technological advancement aligns with Sallaum Lines’ vision of driving the decarbonization of the RORO shipping sector.
MV Ocean Explorer a new generation PCTC vesse was constructed by Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding and shares an overall length of 199.90 meters with a wide breadth measuring 38 meters. Designed to accommodate up to 7,500 car equivalent units (CEU) across 13 decksPower is provided by a dual-fuel engine that can also run on LNG., it is powered by an LNG fuel system with a total capacity of 3,536.21 cubic meters. in compliance with American Bureau of Shipping class requirements. She is a near-identical sister of Ocean Breeze, which was handed over to Sallaum last year
The vessel can also transport hydrogen- and natural gas-powered vehicles as well as hazardous cargo in addition to vehicles with conventional combustion engines. Four of the vehicle decks are liftable to permit the carriage of larger freight such as trailers and buses.
