On the other hand, the 22nd Global Views ESG Corporate Sustainability Awards saw Far Eastern New Century Corporation (FENC) triumph in two categories. The first prize in the outstanding project – low carbon operations category was awarded to FENC, as was the outstanding award in the comprehensive performance – traditional industry category. Humphrey Cheng, the president of Corporate Management, attended the ceremony on 7 May to accept the awards and deliver a speech.
FENC has won first prize in the "Low Carbon Operations" category for the third time, which is the most wins among Taiwanese enterprises.
The president of Corporate Management, Humphrey Cheng, stated that FENC has been dedicated to the recycling industry for nearly four decades and has emerged as the world's largest supplier of food-grade recycled polyester. 'We continually refine our R&D in recycled polyester technologies, broadening the practical applications of the circular economy across various industries. Looking to the future, we intend to leverage our core competencies to collaborate with stakeholders across sectors and integrate the value chain to facilitate a transition to a low-carbon economy."
In 2025, FENC secured the CDP's highest "A List" rating in "Climate Change" for the second year in a row, placing it among the top global sustainability leaders. It also retained its place in both the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Index (DJBCI) and the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook. In terms of sustainable finance, FENC received multiple awards from FinanceAsia and Treasury Today.
U-Ming provides global shipping services for iron ore, coal, grain, and steel. It is Taiwan’s largest bulk carrier company, which has offices in Singapore, HK, and Xiamen, China, for global shipping deployments.
