On the sidelines of his visit to Greece, Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority SCA and Mr. Panos Xenokostas, CEO of ONEX Shipyard, one of the largest shipyards in Greece, discussed avenues for cooperation in joint manufacturing, training, and converting ships to run on clean fuel.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Veron Vassiliadis, Chairman of the V Group, owner of Antipollution, and a high-level delegation from ONEX Shipyard, including the Head of Logistics and the Chief Financial Officer of the Greek shipyard.
During the visit, Rabie toured ONEX Shipyard's facilities, including its various workshops, technical training centers, maintenance docks, construction yards, and other areas. The Chairman also learned about the shipyard's activities in building and manufacturing various marine vessels, and the technologies used in shipbuilding and converting ships and marine units to run on clean fuel in addition to conventional fuel.

The Chairman of SCA emphasized that the Authority has taken significant steps towards developing and modernizing its shipyards to maximize the benefits of its unique geographical location and its human and material resources. This has been achieved through strengthening partnerships with major international shipyards and exchanging expertise in shipbuilding and repair of various marine vessels.
This statement was made on the sidelines of Admiral Osama Rabie's participation in the opening of the 14th Arab-Greek Economic Forum, organized by the Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce & development over two days in Athens
The forum's activities included attending the opening session, titled "Prospects for Future Arab-Greek Cooperation in the Construction Sector," followed by bilateral discussions with officials from several Arab and Greek companies. During these discussions, Admiral Rabie reviewed the capabilities and potential of the Suez Canal Authority's affiliated companies in the fields of construction, infrastructure projects, and port development. He highlighted the extensive experience these companies possess in maritime infrastructure, port, and dock works.

The Chairman also noted the recent developments in the activities of the Authority's affiliated companies and the expansion of their operations to implement numerous infrastructure projects in several Arab and African countries.
Admiral Rabie expressed his eagerness to explore future cooperation opportunities with Arab and Greek companies and to benefit from the potential for achieving common interests through such cooperation, emphasizing the readiness of the Authority's affiliated companies to participate in implementing various infrastructure projects outside of Egypt.
Ambassador Amer explained that the strategic partnership between the Suez Canal Authority and the Greek V Group, through its subsidiary Antipollution Egypt, is a leading and successful model of Egyptian-Greek cooperation.

The Egyptian Ambassador to Greece emphasized the pivotal role of the Suez Canal in supporting trade between East and West and ensuring the sustainability and stability of global supply chains. He commended the efforts exerted by the Suez Canal Authority to restore major shipping lines to transit the Red Sea region, praising the proactive steps taken by the Authority for a gradual recovery from the repercussions of the Red Sea crisis and for working towards restoring canal traffic to its normal levels.
