During the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition, currently underway in Malaysia, Fincantieri and Enra Energy Solutions signed a technical collaboration agreement to support the strategic program “15 to 5” promoted by the Royal Malaysian Navy for the renewal of its fleet.
The signing took place in the presence of the Malaysian Minister of Defence, H.E. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, and the Italian Undersecretary of State for Defence, the Hon. Matteo Perego di Cremnago, and was signed by Biagio Mazzotta, Chairman of Fincantieri, and Ikhlas Zainal, CEO of Enra Energy Solutions.

The initiative, explains Fincantieri, represents a fundamental step towards strengthening Malaysia’s operational capabilities in the naval sector and, at the same time, stimulating the growth of the national industry through strong local involvement.
The agreement paves the way for a partnership aimed at the supply and support of new-generation naval units, including Multi Role Support Ships (MRS) and Littoral Mission Ships batch 3. These platforms are designed to enhance efficiency and operational readiness in an ever-changing geopolitical context.
Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups and a key partner of the Italian and US Navies, will provide its expertise in the development of high-tech naval platforms. The Group plays a key role in international cooperation initiatives in the defense sector, contributing to programs in several allied nations
Ees is one of the key reference companies in Malaysia, with a solid experience in maintenance, repair and logistics support services. Thanks to this collaboration, Ees will be a key player in the creation of a local supply chain specialized in the maritime defense sector.
This collaboration is part of Fincantieri’s broader strategy aimed at building long-term industrial partnerships with local entities in strategically important areas. The aim is to integrate local capabilities in advanced defense programs, generating added value through the transfer of technology, know-how and industrial skills.

Biagio Mazzotta, Chairman of Fincantieri, said on the occasion: “Southeast Asia represents a strategic region for the future of the maritime defense industry. Our collaboration with Enra Energy Solutions represents a concrete step towards building a solid industrial system in Malaysia that combines our global experience with local excellence. We are proud to support the strategic vision of the Royal Malaysian Navy and to contribute to the development of a strong and resilient national ecosystem”.
